Paralegal

Position Overview: Our client, a reputable and fast-paced law firm, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Paralegal to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting solicitors with case preparation, legal research, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management:
    • Assist Solicitors in managing client cases, including preparing case files, maintaining schedules, and tracking deadlines.
    • Draft, organize, and file legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and court motions.
    • Conduct initial client intake interviews to gather relevant case details.
  2. Legal Research:
    • Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents.
    • Summarise findings and prepare detailed reports.
  3. Document Preparation and Review:
    • Prepare and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
    • Draft correspondence and maintain professional communication with clients, courts, and other parties.
  4. Administrative Support:
    • Maintain and update case management systems and legal databases.
    • Coordinate attorney schedules, court filings, and client meetings.
    • Handle correspondence and follow-ups with opposing counsel, clients, and court officials.
  5. Court Filings and Compliance:
    • File legal documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines.
    • Stay updated on court procedural rules and changes.
  6. Client Interaction:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering procedural questions.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and research tools.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in legal research platforms and case management software.
    • Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
